Children in the Park Pre-Loaded

There is a Church in downtown INDY called Robert's Park Methodist.

They are a homeless friendly church.

On Saturday mornings they allow a congregation of homeless people and church groups to get together to give the homeless clothing and food.

A number of weeks ago I was in line to get biscuits & gravy, an INDY poor folks favorite.

A man was serving the gravy with an 8 year old girl putting the biscuits on the plate.

I told her I only wanted one biscuit.

She got tense and put 3 biscuits on the plate, surprising both me and the man.

Last week there was an 8 year old boy serving the biscuits.

I told them I wanted only one biscuit.

The boy got tense and shouted “FOUR BISCUITS?!”

It has occurred to me that people are being “pre-loaded” with certain information, to the degree that when I speak, they only hear what they think they should hear and not what I am saying.
